Expressive Pinch Pot Sculptures
Seventh grade students have been working on expressive sculptures. To begin this project, students were randomly assigned an emotion or expression to illustrate in clay. We emphasized the creation of three-dimensional form, rather than just drawing into the clay. Texture was added as a finishing detail.
This photo was taken as I was loading up the kiln on Friday. Now that they have been bisque fired, students will be working on painting these with acrylic paints. Stay tuned for pictures of the finished work!

Dream House Designs
Grade 7- Seventh graders worked with linear perspective for their Dream House paintings. Horizon line, vanishing points and orthogonal lines are the underpinnings of these beautiful homes. Students also used trees to create a sense of space in their art. Enjoy!
Expressive Pinch Pots
Grade 7 – 7th Graders start their portraits in clay with a simple pinch pot. After choosing a feeling they manipulate eyebrows, eyes and other facial features as well as adding props to create expression.
